The Infrared Obstacle Avoidance Sensor Module is a simple, low-cost solution designed for obstacle detection in robotics, automation, and embedded electronics projects. With a detection range of approximately 30–40 cm depending on surface type, this module uses infrared light reflection to detect nearby objects and trigger a digital LOW signal on its output pin.

This module features four connection pins — +5V, GND, Output, and Enable (EN) — making it extremely easy to interface with microcontrollers such as Arduino and Raspberry Pi. It integrates an onboard status LED to visually confirm object detection, and includes dual potentiometers for fine-tuning intensity and IR frequency. The onboard 555 timer-based circuit generates a modulated 38 kHz IR beam optimized for obstacle detection.
